|While researching Novel Nostalgias, I became aware of how difficult it can be to locate and obtain nineteenth-century anarchist, socialist, and other radical publications. What remains of these local and regional newspapers and magazines are scattered across the U.S. and are often housed in sub-optimal archival conditions. These publications demonstrate that experimental political and cultural thought thrived at the end of the nineteenth century. Here I hope to begin the process of bringing together these various resources. In keeping with the spirit of these publications, however, I feel very strongly that these resources should not sit behind a paywall.
